About Stephen Bagby

Stephen Bagby joined CSI Accounting & Payroll in June 2025 as an Accounting & Tax Manager. Since beginning his career in tax accounting in 2016, he has worked with accounting teams and tax professionals to improve workflows, implement software solutions, and support tax preparation processes.

Stephen earned a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from Morgan State University in 2013 before completing a Master of Business Administration from the University of Maryland in 2019. His educational background combines accounting expertise with broader business management principles, providing a strong foundation for his work with clients and accounting teams.

Throughout his career, Stephen has developed expertise in Excel, Engagement, and ProSystem fx Tax. One of his most significant accomplishments came during a firmwide software transition at a previous employer. As the only team member with prior experience using Engagement, he was responsible for developing, organizing, and leading a 10-week summer training program that taught more than 30 employees how to use the software. The program played a key role in helping the firm successfully transition to its new tax binder platform.

Leadership has been a consistent theme throughout Stephen's professional and personal life. He frequently takes leadership roles in group settings and has often served as the spokesperson for team projects. Growing up, he was the captain of numerous sports teams, experiences that helped develop his communication and leadership skills.

Stephen has spent his entire life in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Outside of work, he serves as an assistant football coach at Dr. Henry A. Wise High School and helps coach his son's 10U travel football team. Coaching provides an opportunity to continue mentoring others and contributing to his local community.

Leadership & Industry Contributions

Stephen's most notable leadership contribution involved designing and leading a 10-week training program for more than 30 accounting professionals during a software conversion project. As the only individual with prior experience using Engagement, he served as the primary trainer and resource for the firm's transition to the platform.

In addition to his professional leadership experience, Stephen regularly takes on leadership roles in team environments and community activities. His coaching responsibilities with both high school and youth football programs reflect his ongoing commitment to mentorship, instruction, and team development.
